New medical device manufacturing hub in Aurora will create more than 100 jobs

A medical device company has opened a manufacturing center that will bring more than 110 jobs to the Chicagoland area.

Amsino Medical Group officially cut the ribbon in its new $32 million North American distribution and manufacturing hub in Aurora Wednesday. The 222,000-square-footcenter will house all of the company's production and distribution of medical devices.

With the new center, located at 700 Enterprise St. Aurora, Amsino is expected to create 110 permanent jobs, according to a news release. The company has so far hired 30 of those roles. The new employees will be added to its Aurora and Vernon Hills locations.

Amsino, founded in 1993, makes a range of different medical devices, from medication delivery systems to surgery systems.

Its expansion comes as Illinois' life sciences sector continues to heat up. Last year Illinois saw 20 life sciences companies expand or relocate to the state. In addition, more than 40 manufacturing companies have expanded or relocated to Illinois in the last year.

As part of the expansion, Amsino received EDGE tax credits from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
